Training and Development for the International Tourism Industry

This component is designed specifically for organisations needing to boost their tourism potential, whether on a country, destination or individual basis.

As both a training and an operational tourism organisation, PW International is constantly researching training and development needs to improve performances. We have been, and still are, instrumental in helping develop successful strategies to properties and attractions around the world.

For the FIT market, the attraction for tourists to come, and keep coming, is the infrastructure and the standards of its hospitality, entertainment and attractions. After all, these are the resources that tourists use on a daily basis!

For the MICE market, I think we would all accept it is value for money, service and the "wow" factor.

Another consideration is the behaviour of officials towards tourists such as customs, immigration, airport officials, police etc., who can have a great effect on the reputation of a country and whether tourists will visit and return regularly. We offer training and seminars to such organisations in order to help them to be "tourist friendly without losing authority"

  • Training for Frontier Officials - Customs, Immigration, Port and Airport employees, Police etc.

A typical order of events would be:-

  • We are contacted by a potential client and discuss their requirements by telephone or e-mail.
  • If we are able to offer something worthwhile we usually follow up with a visit to the client in country to carry out a needs analysis.
  • Following this visit, we put together a proposal that will meet these requirements and offer it to our client.
  • If it is accepted, then we carry out the programme either in the UK or in the client's country or sometimes a mixture of both depending on the best way forward for our client.
